CAE exists to support, enable and coordinate local action on climate change.
Skill-building is at the centre of CAE's work. Local groups and activists need to be able to engage effectively with MPs and other politicians, with councils, with energy companies and other businesses, with local media and with interested individuals and community groups. CAE will help provide the skills, support and up-to-date information local activists need.
CAE will support local ‘leaders’ and key activists. Many local organisations benefit from work by a small number of key activists, who face extra workload from managing a group as well as doing ‘campaign-related’ work.
CAE will plan for long-term and sustained activity and to grow the number of people taking action on climate change. Supporting and encouraging the next generation of activists is key.
